This year the Notre Dame Club of Fort Worth hosted its third annual Hesburgh Lecture Series in conjuction with the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. Below is information regarding this year's event.
Ethical Business in the 21st Century
Dr Patrick Murphy, Prof of Marketing at the Mendoza College of Business, spoke on "Ethical Business in the 21st Century" Patrick E. Murphy, the C.R. Smith Co-Director of the Institute for Ethical Business Worldwide, has been a member of the Notre Dame faculty since 1984. He served as chair of the Department of Marketing from 1990-93 and 1994-2001. During 1993-94, he was a Fulbright Scholar at University College Cork in Professor Murphy specializes in business and marketing ethics. His work on these topics has appeared in the leading ethics and marketing journals. He is currently revising “Eighty Exemplary Ethics Statements” (Notre Dame Press, 1998) and published two books on marketing ethics in 2005 and 2006. His articles have received awards from the Journal of Macromarketing and the Journal of Advertising. Professor Murphy has been extensively involved in professional service activities. He served as editor of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing and on the editorial review boards of five journals. He has served as co-chair on two occasions for the American Marketing Association Summer Marketing Educators’ Conference and the Public Policy Conference. He has also held a number of leadership positions in the American Marketing Association and is a frequent lecturer on business and marketing ethics.
